Carpet Beetles look very similar to lady bugs due to their shape, but they are smaller.  People commonly mistake them for bed bugs because the larvae can cause reactions similar to a bed bug bite.  As their name implies, carpet beetles are known to feed on carpets, wool, fur felt and feathers.  

A female carpet beetle can lay up to 100 eggs, she may deposit hers eggs on a closet carpet of other soft materials.
